Eliot Feibush joined the Computational Plasma Physics Group in 2001. Eliot received his B. Architecture and M.S. in computer graphics from Cornell University. He leads the Princeton Visualization Consortium, which includes the Princeton Institute for Computational Science and Engineering, the Geophysical Fluid Dynamics Laboratory, and PPPL.
Eliot specializes in scientific visualization. As a member of the High Performance Computing Team, he is creating visualizations of fusion simulations and plasma physics experiments. Other efforts include developing scientific graphics software for showing data acquired from experiments and subsequent analysis. His ElVis software is deployed for displaying the input and results of TRANSP runs. He developed the visualization and graphical user interface for the Full Wave Reflectometer simulation. Eliot's visualization work includes designing and installing the Display Wall in the Princeton University Lewis Science Library. At PPPL he manages the CPPG High Resolution Wall and supports the Collaborative Display Wall in the NSTX Control Room.
Eliot is active in the Science Education program at PPPL. In 2008 he received the Outstanding Volunteer award from the New Jersey Regional Science Bowl. The software he developed for administering academic competitions received Honorable Mention from the Federal Laboratory Consortium for Technology Transfer. In 2010 he received the DOE Outstanding Mentor award for working with Science Undergraduate Laboratory Interns.
