Dr. Guoyong Fu (傅国勇) is a Principal Research Physicist at Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory, Princeton University, Princeton, New Jersey. His main interests include MHD and energetic particle physics in magnetic fusion plasmas. He received the Kaul Foundation Prize in 1998 for Excellence in Plasma Physics Research and Technology Development. He is author over 130 publications in refereed journals. He was elected a Fellow of the American Physical Society in 2006 for "For pioneering work in energetic particle physics in tokamaks and magnetohydrodymic stability in stellarators". He has been the Principal Investigator of the DOE SciDAC Center for Nonlinear Simulation of Energetic Particles in Burning Plasmas (CSEP) since 2011. He received B.S. in physics from University of Science and Technology of China in 1983, and Ph.D. in physics from the University of Texas at Austin in 1988. He has been a Visiting Professor at the Institute of Fusion Theory and Simulations, Zhejiang University, China since 2006 and has co-advised 5 Ph.D. students.
