Qian Teng began his PhD program at PPPL in the fall of 2013. He graduated with a B.S. in physics from Peking University in Beijing, China.
He focused on pedestal physics in his first year project. Since his second year, he is working on the Greenwald density limit now supervised by Roscoe White, David Gates, Nathaniel Ferraro, Dylan Brennan and Luis Delgado-Aparicio. He aims to explain the density limit with a thermo-resistive tearing mode formalism. He likes running and fishing.
