For his undergraduate studies, Daniel Ruiz attended Tecnológico de Monterrey (ITESM) in Monterrey, Mexico and École Polytechnique in Palaiseau, France. He received his M.S. in Nuclear Reactor Physics and Engineering from the National Institute of Nuclear Science and Technology (INSTN) in Saclay, France.
He is currently a graduate student of Prof. Ilya Dodin. His main research interests include: basic plasma physics, variational wave mechanics in plasma theory, nonlinear wave-wave interactions, geometrical optics, and wave ponderomotive dynamics.
The title of his ongoing thesis is "Variational methods in wave mechanics and applications to reduced plasma modeling."
