Dr. Tommaso Barberis is an Associate Research Physicist in the PPPL theory department, where his work explores the interaction between energetic particles and magnetohydrodynamic instabilities in plasmas through analytical and numerical modeling. His current research interests include plasma stability, fast ion transport, and the development of control strategies for instabilities in tokamaks. Dr. Barberis completed his Ph.D. in Physics at the Polytechnic University of Turin in 2024, where he focused on the impact of fast ions on the vertical stability of tokamak plasmas
