Vadim graduated with M.Sc. and B.Sc. in applied mathematics and physics from Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, where he worked on the understanding of the electrostatic interaction of dielectric macroparticles in plasma.
He is currently a Ph.D. candidate in plasma physics working with Professor Nat Fisch. For his project he worked on the role of kinetic effects on magnetic field generation in rotating and radiating astrophysical plasmas, and on calculation of the generated current resulting from inverse Bremsstrahlung absorption including subtle effects of the ion recoil and asymmetric resistivity. Now he analytically and by means of molecular dynamics simulations studies Bremsstrahlung absorption under different regimes, specifically being interested in degenerate plasma.
