Hongxuan Zhu,朱鸿轩, is a postdoctoral associate research physicist at PPPL Theory Department. He received his Ph.D. in plasma physics from Princeton University in 2020, and B.S. in physics from Peking University in 2015. His Ph.D. thesis, supervised by Dr. Ilya Dodin, studied plasma transport properties in fusion devices, in particular the physics behind the phenomenon of “Dimits shift”.
Currently he is working with Dr. Timothy Stoltzfus-Dueck on theoretical and numerical modeling of edge electric field in fusion devices. The work is in close collaboration with the XGC group here at PPPL.
