Dr. Yi-Min Huang, 黃一民, is Research Scholar at the Department of Astrophysical Sciences, Princeton University. He received his Ph.D. in Physics from University of Maryland, College Park, in 2004. Since then, he has worked at the University of Wisconsin, Madison (2004-2008), and the University of New Hampshire (2008-2013), before joining Princeton in 2013.
Dr. Huang's research has covered a broad range of theoretical plasma physics topics with applications to laboratory, fusion, space, and astrophysical plasmas. His recent interests primarily focus on secondary instabilities in large-scale magnetic reconnection. In particular, he is trying to further understand self-sustained turbulent reconnection generated by the plasmoid instability, spontaneous stochasticization of magnetic field, and the physical origin of supra-arcade downflows in solar eruptions.
